संस्कार – The Indian way of MANNERISM.

Sanskar – the ethos in the Indian Mythology. It is what the Indians call their way of behaving. It is the way the elders react and approach situations – be it normal or abnormal. It is taught to the child right from the childhood by the parents and other elders. The parents take special care of not letting negative mannerism influence  the child. The teaching begins from teaching the child to respect everyone – both elders and siblings.

Sanskar basically elaborates on the methodology that one follows when encountered by different phases of life. There are several factors that influence an individual’s ability to grasp and adapt the mannerism. If an individual is exposed to positive factors like spirituality,molarity,ethics,etc.. then there will be a positive impact which shall lay a path towards better and positive attitude. In India, the family of an individual takes due care of the factors that are exposed to the individual during the parenting stage of his life.If the exposure is full of negative factors like arrogance,temper,cunningness,etc.. then the path laid will not lead to fruitful raising of the individual.

The process of parenting – teaching mannerism is based on the concept of ‘What you sow is what you reap.’ This teaching began long back in the era of sages and saints. They used to teach the royal families and other sections of the society on how to behave and how once behaviour can influence and provoke others’ behaviour and attitude. The sages and saints used the Indian scriptures (Vedas and other sacred texts) to preach the ways of mannerism.

In the present day scenario the value of mannerism has appreciated because of its heritage value. We all know how much we – the Indians value our mannerism, be it towards elders, peers or siblings.

Today I believe that our mannerism reflects our personality and character.
